Learning to play the piano is often the highlight of a person’s formative years. Music can bring both enjoyment and consolation, and it teaches us about discipline as well as creativity. This is something I would like to pass on to all my students.

Piano Syllabuses
I specialise in teaching young people who are preparing for Piano or Piano for Leisure exams conducted by AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board). I am also very familiar with the syllabuses of ANZCA (Australian New Zealand Cultural Association) and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, UK). Since these syllabuses may focus on slightly different aspects, I make it a point to select the syllabus that best meets a student’s needs.

Music Theory
Knowing music theory is essential for learning to play the piano effectively and sensitively. Music theory is incorporated as part of my lessons. Students who are doing practical exams are also prepared to sit for theory exams.

Classical and Modern Styles
While I was trained in classical piano, I teach modern styles of music as well — from classic rock and jazz, to disco and techno pop. For adult students especially, lessons are tailored to suit their personal preferences with a focus on particular style of their choice.  The full list of music courses offered are:
