Just a quick update as we are mid-way through Term 2.
A few weeks ago, we had the Autumn Concert and video clips from the concert are on the studio’s website. My thanks and appreciation to those students and their families who attended the concert.
The last day of piano lessons for this term is Friday, 26 June. And this year, the studio will be opening a week later for Term 3 as my family will be away. Lessons will resume on Monday, 20 July.

More than half of Term 1 has gone by in a flash. Please note that piano lessons this term ends on Thursday 2 April, due to the the Good Friday and Holy Saturday Public Holidays
Also, preparations for the Autumn Concert 2026 have begun. The details:

Spring Recital 2025
Term 4 keeps getting busier for everyone every year. And so, a big thank you to those students who made time to participate in the recent Spring Recital. As usual, short video clips of the performances are uploaded on the studio’s website at https://www.de-muso.com.au/news. Apologies to the three students who were not recorded due to the video camera malfunctioning mid-way.
End of Year 2025
This year, piano lessons will end in Week 10 of the term – the last lessons are on Saturday 14 December. While many students still have upcoming piano exams, I’d like to encourage them to complete their 40-piece challenge and learn a festive tune or a new piece for next year’s Autumn Concert.
Autumn Concert 2026
The main concert will be held in Term 2 Week 2 next year. The venue has been booked and the full details are as follows:

We’re well into spring time and so it’s time for the Spring Recital. This smaller concert ‘for students only’ will be held at my home in Week 5 of this term.

Dear Parents and Students
One particularly observant student recently remarked, “It’s already the middle of the term!” Actually, it’s way passed the middle of term, and so time for a quick update.
Studio Activities
Term 3 always seems to pass by extra fast as many students are busy preparing for their piano exams. Accordingly, studio activities this term have been centred around increasing practice, improving musical knowledge, and honing aural and sight-reading skills.
Spring Recital 2025
Like last year, the Spring Recital will be held in mid-Term 4. This is a mini-concert to provide another opportunity for students to perform for an audience, albeit a smaller one comprising only their peers and in a possibly cosier environment.

End of Term 3
The last day of the term is Saturday 20 September. Normal lessons for Term 4 resume on Monday 6 October.

This term, the studio will be closing 1 week earlier for the Term 2 School Holidays. The last day of piano lessons for this term is Saturday 28 June, and lessons will resume on Monday 21 July for Term 3.
In Term 2, we had the Autumn Concert and video clips of the concert have since been put up on the website. Once again, thank you to all those students and their families who participated in the concert.
Coming up next is the Spring Recital at my home in Term 4. More details will be given next term.

A quick update as we near the end of Term 1. The last day for piano lessons this term on Saturday 5 April, and piano lessons resume a little later next term on Tuesday 22 April because of the Easter Monday holiday.
Also a reminder that we have the 2025 Autumn Concert coming up in Term 2. It will be held on Sunday, 25 May, 3:00 pm at Knox Community Arts Centre. More details about the event will be provided at the beginning of Term 2.

I hope your families had an enjoyable holiday season and a great start to 2025.
This is just to confirm that piano lessons will resume in the 2nd week of the new school term, that is not next week but from Monday 3 February onwards. And, if they haven’t already been practising, it would be good if students start playing their pianos and keyboards in preparation for the resumption of their lessons.

End of Year 2024
Piano lessons will end the week of 16 – 21 December. Students’ family members/friends are most welcome to sit in for the last lesson of the year as they’ll be encouraged to play their favourite Christmas songs.

There will be a Spring Recital this term in Week 5. It’s a ‘mini-concert for students only’ which is held at my home.
The main purpose of the recital is to help students prepare for public performances, whether they are for upcoming exams or future bigger concerts. But it is also for students to get together with their peers in a more relaxed environment, and hopefully, have a bit of fun in the process. The details of the recital are below:

Dear Parents
This term has been a busy one. Many students are in the midst of preparing for upcoming exams in October and November. So activities this term have been mainly focused on encouraging practice, building general musical knowledge as well learning aural and sightreading skills.
Spring Recital 2024
While Spring seems to be upon us already, this year’s Spring Recital will be held later in mid-Term 4 since the main concert was last term. This mini-concert is held at my home and is intended to introduce students to public performances in a smaller and less intimidating environment. Students will just need to perform one piece each in front of their peers. The details are:
