A big welcome back to all students! The start of a new year is always an exciting time for the studio as we make plans and set challenges for the months ahead. This year, I’m particularly enthusiastic about our theme for the year – A Musical Journey Around The World. In line with this theme, our Music of the Month series will explore the music of a different country each month.
The other programme that is ongoing is the 40 Piece Challenge. Last year, a record number of students completed the challenge (and a lot of chocolate bars were given out as a result!). This year, students who are at an Intermediate Level can choose to do the Solo Concert Challenge instead, which requires them to perform three pieces from memory for a small audience.
And as usual, the two main studio events will be the Winter Recital in June and the Year-End Concert in December.
